Abstract University ranking system is a sorting method to grade universities in the world based on predetermined parameters. Percentage of the green a`rea in each university that is captured by satellite can be used as a parameter world university ranking. In this final project, the rangking system is implementation based on web server and the green images segmentation process in this work use HSV thresholding. Analysis done for the result of segmentation process and the execution time. University satellite images are taken from Google Earth and 75% of them are captured from 2009 and 2010. The result show that HSV thresholding method splits green 21% better than global threshold method and 59% better than local threshold method. Web processing takes 19.5% longer than the processing that is done without web interface. This study also shows that the size of image file not affect the execution time.
