Born in Jakarta in 1969, he was assigned as junior lecturer in the Department of Metallurgy, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Indonesia since 1994. He earned Doctor of Engineering (Dr. Eng.) from Tohoku University, Japan in 2002. Then, he joined Venture Business Laboratory, Akita University, Japan as postdoctoral fellow for 3 years, 2002-2005. He was back as permanent academic staff to Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Universitas Indonesia at 2005. At 2008 he became as Lektor Kepala (in some extent similar with Associate Professor). His research interest is in the area of chemical metallurgy and materials chemistry. For more than 15 years he works in the field of environemental benign of materials synthesize and processing, resource circulation engineering, and physical-chemical separation of minerals/materials. He also joined as national and international professional member in Materials Research Society of Indonesia, Persatuan Insiyur Indonesia (Indonesian Engineer Association), The Minerals, Metallurgy and Materials Society (TMS), and Japan Institute of Metals (JIM).
