International Tropical Renewable Energy Conference (i-TREC) 2016 is an international conference in the field of renewable energy in tropical regions. The conference is organized by the Tropical Renewable Energy Center (TREC) Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia. In accordance with the vision of TREC as a center of excellent in the field of renewable energy in tropical regions, this international conference is hoped to increase the awareness and innovation of renewable energy utilization in the tropical regions, especially in Indonesia.

The potential of renewable energy in tropical countries, and particularly in Indonesia, has unique characteristics. It is a challenge for researcher and academia to develop a suitable technical design prototype, policy strategy and business model in order to form a sustainable system.

The current theme for the conference is “Renewable Energy Technology Innovation and Policy for Sustainable Development”. The topics of interest would be in the area of:

• Solar Thermal Cooling and Refrigeration
• Biological Energy Conversion
• Energy Storage Technology
• Nanostructured Energy Materials
• Fluid and Thermodynamics
• Power Electronics and Control
• Smart Grids, Micro Grids, and Active Networks
• Other related topics in renewable energy

The event will be held on October 26 – 28, 2016 at the Margo Hotel, Depok, featuring many interested papers. Selected papers will be published in International Journal of Technologyindexed by SCOPUS
